Bouncy balls were a staple of my childhood, and I am happy to say that my kids love them as much (or even more) as I did! After spending a few too many quarters at those grocery store toy vending machines, I realized that we could easily make our own homemade DIY bouncy balls.

This fun and colorful craft requires barely any time at all and will provide your little ones with plenty of fun. You can make your own bouncy balls using basic materials and household items like Borax, water, glue, and glitter.

You will also need boiling water, two different bowls, a spoon for stirring, and some measuring spoons. These would make great stocking stuffers or goodie bag stuffers.

You can also create festive ones and add them to classroom treat bags. For example, you could make glittery orange balls for Halloween, red and green ones for Christmas, pink and red ones for Valentine’s Day, and so on.

Little ones can help make these cute bouncy balls and will enjoy seeing how quickly they come together. You will need to help the kids with measuring the water, Borax, and glue properly.

Step 7. Stir this together well. It should create a dense and jelly-like substance.

Eventually, it will not be very easy to stir. That’s when you know you have the consistency that you want.

Step 8. Now, pick up the mixture in your hands. It should be squishy.

Step 9. Begin to squish and roll the mixture into a round ball shape.

Step 10. At this point, your ball should not be too sticky. If it is still sticky, you can add a few more drops of Borax mixture.

Your glittery bouncy ball is complete! To store, place it in a round mold wrapped in saran wrap, or it will flatten out and become hard.

Enjoy!
