If you’re anything like me, then you accumulate jars like they’re going out of style. These clever ways to organize with ordinary jars will inspire you to put those jars to use!

Glass jars are everywhere, and we gather so many of them over the course of our lives.

But they don’t just have to end up in the trash. There are hundreds of ways to use ordinary jars to organize your home, and in this post, I’m highlighting a few of my favorites.

1. Laundry Powder Jars

First off, the laundry. This is one of the rooms in the house that can devolve into chaos fairly quickly. That’s why I love using leftover jars to store the loose supplies in the laundry.

To keep things clear and segmented, you might want to invest in some labels like these.

2. Dry Goods Pantry Jars

Dry goods storage is an important part of any well-stocked pantry. Luckily, you don’t have to invest in a whole new set of jars to keep your dry goods sealed in an airtight container.

Any glass jar with an intact seal will do beautifully.

3. Art Supply Shelf

Art time can be chaotic, so art supplies need a simply and repeatable organization system to keep everything clean! That’s why I love this art supply shelf idea.

Whether you have a dedicated art room or a shelf in a smaller room, a few glass jars are the perfect solution for storing markers and other small art supplies.

4. Dog Jar Storage

Are you constantly losing dog supplies? Keep everything in view and easy to access with some wall-mounted glass jars!

This is a super quick and easy hack that uses brackets like these to attach jar lids to the wall, so the jars can be easily unscrewed from below.

The secret to success for this bar is to grab a small two-level shelf to sit on the countertop, like this one.

8. Bathroom Bar

Keeping Epsom salts, bath bombs, and other bath supplies in the bathroom can open them up to moisture intrusion.

The salts will clump together and become unusable if not stored in something airtight. That’s why using ordinary glass jars is the perfect solution.

9. Dry Pulse Storage

Lentils, chickpeas, dried beans, rice. There are a hundred different things you can store in dried form to make sure that they last for a long time. But it’s essential that the containers are airtight!

It helps if all of the jars are the same size and shape, as that makes storing them much easier.

Storing your brushes properly is vital for helping them to last for as long as possible. Storing them flat invites them to dry in the wrong shape, or even to rot from the moisture!

Storing them in jars without lids allows them to dry properly, and you can organize them by shape. Just make sure to label them properly with something like this to keep them separated.

11. Produce Jars in the Fridge

Bring those spaghetti sauce jars to the fridge so you can reuse them to store produce to help it last longer.

To make it even better, consider using a Lazy Susan so you can rotate the jars as-needed on the fridge shelf.

12. Spice Jars

If organizing your spices has been on your to-do list forever, then this might be the solution for you. You’ll need a bunch of small jars along with a set of labels to keep those spices clear.

13. Swap Out the Lids

One of my favorite hacks for reusing ordinary jars to store dried goods is to swap out the lids. Most mason jar lids will fit onto recycled jars if you find the right size.

Swapping out those lids helps the entire setup to feel uniform and sleek, and it’s so much more cost-effective than buying an entirely new set of jars.

14. Nut Storage

Nuts are one of the best snacks to keep in your home. They’re rich in fat and high in calories, with plenty of fiber to keep you regular. They also need to be stored in airtight containers.
