Then, fill one of your balloons with the stuffing.Keep adding filling until you get the desired shape and size for your squishie.
Do the same with your second balloon.
Now, use tape to close the opening of one of your balloons.
Do the same for the second balloon.
Now, get your markers to draw your mochi’s faces.Be sure to let the marker dry completely before you move on to the next step.
Your adorable squishies are complete! The next several steps are optional and will show you how to make a tray for your squishies. You can make a tray or skip these steps if you don’t want one! If you would like to make a tray for your mochi squishies, you will begin by cutting the shape that is shown in the picture out of your decorative paper. The specific dimensions will depend on how large you made your mochis. My rectangle 4.5” long and 2” wide. The side walls of mine are about 1” high.
Now, cut out a second rectangle of the same size (mine is 4.5” long and 2” wide) for the floor.
Then, fold the four walls of your tray upward to form a box-like shape. Tape the corners together so that the tray stays intact.
Finally, attach your second rectangle to the bottom of the box/tray using tape and add your squishies. Your cute craft is complete!
Notes
*Mochi are usually in pastel colors so pastel colored balloons would be best.
