Instructions

  • Pile your two coffee filters into a stack and flatten them.
  • Decorate your filters however you would like.
  • Cover your decorated coffee filters with water and wait for them to dry.
  • Take a pipe cleaner and fold it in half to make the body.
  • Get your other pipe cleaner and begin wrapping it around the first pipe cleaner a in an upwards direction.
  • Keep wrapping until you have a smaller portion of pipe cleaner left.
  • This smaller portion of pipe cleaner will be an arm.
  • Now, do the same thing with the other end to make the other arm.
  • Separate the two dried filters.
  • Take one of the filters and fold it in half.
  • Fold it in half two more times. You should have a triangle shape.
  • Cut the pointed end of your triangle off.
  • Unfold your filter into a semicircle shape (not all the way open).
  • Make two small cuts at the bottom of your filter on either side of the hole you made.
  • Open your filter up all the way. Tuck the arms of your pipe cleaner dancer into the small slits you have made.
  • Now, pull the head of your dancer through the hole.
  • Get your elastic band and put it over your dancer’s head and arms so that it is positioned right at the top of the dress. Wrap it around a few times to ensure a secure fit.
  • Take your second paper filter and repeat steps 12, 13, and 14.
  • Pull your dancer’s legs through the hole. You can bend the legs to create feet if you would like.
  • Your adorable dancer is complete! Enjoy!
