Equipment

Materials

  • Toilet roll
  • Thick red A5 sheet of paper
  • Pair of black socks
  • Wiggle googly eyes
  • 1 x clothes peg optional

Instructions

  • Gather all the different supplies that have been listed out to get started on this project.
  • First, roll up one sock into a ball, and then stuff it into the other sock. Push the balled sock right to the end.
  • Next, grab your toilet paper roll and push it into the sock. You will need to push the roll in till the very end, where the balled sock sits.
  • Next, tuck the ends of the sock into the roll. Smooth out any wrinkles, if needed.
  • Grab a compass and measure half the height of the toilet roll(or less, if you want smaller wings).
  • Then, on a sheet of red paper, draw a circle without altering the radius—which will be half the height of the toilet roll.
  • Use a black marker to draw over the pencil outline of the circle.
  • Draw a line down the center and divide the circle into two equal hemispheres.
  • Proceed to draw round circles in either hemisphere and then fill them up.
  • Don’t forget to draw antennae, as well.
  • Now, grab a pair of scissors and cut out the different components. This is when you cut the circle into two hemispheres. So, you’ll have those two hemispheres and a pair of antenna cut-outs.
  • Adhere the top of one wing to the toilet roll and hold it in place till it sticks. Repeat this step with the other wing.
  • Next, adhere a couple of googly eyes and then, finally, the two antennae.
  • You can also consider sticking a clothespin to the bottom of the roll. This will help you clip the ladybug onto different surfaces if required.
