To start making your moon sand, measure 1 cup of cornflour and pour it into a bowl.
Next, add 6 teaspoons of oil to the bowl.
Now, add a few drops of food coloring to your cornflour and oil mixture. You can skip this step if you don’t want to make colored sand.
Now, add your glitter. Again, you can skip this step if you want.
Next, begin to mix your moon sand together with a spoon.
Once it has started to combine, finish the mixing process using your hands.
Continue to combine the ingredients with your hand.
The sand should have a dry consistency but should be moldable and easy to crumble when squeezed.
You can add more oil if you want it to be a bit wetter or you can add more flour if you want it drier. Keep in mind that the drier it is, the messier it is.
Once you reach the consistency you desire, your moon sand is ready to play with! To store, place it in an airtight container or a Ziploc bag for 3 weeks (4 weeks maximum) at room temperature.
